Tuesday 17th August Iceland to Glasgow

On the flight back to Scotland, I reflect on my first ever motorbike adventure and I come to the following conclusions…

Things I have learned about myself on this trip: I really love a cup of tea in the hotel room when we first arrive, but an hour later I am ready for my first pint of the day, no matter what time that may be. I love an adventure, but I am also acutely aware of my own shortcomings as regards “stopping on a whim in unusual places”. This is the biggest challenge I need to overcome and I promise myself that as soon as we get back to Scotland I find an off-road teacher to train with.

Things I have learned about Cameron: He may beat my son Noah to the title of “Fussiest eater in Scotland”. He is utterly brilliant at keeping calm under difficult circumstances. He does NOT snore. Not even a little. I couldn’t have wished for a better travel companion.
